Boulder, Colorado Wedding Photography

Rachel and Jay chose to tie the knot at Sunrise Amphitheater in Boulder, CO! I LOVE this venue because it has such amazing views of Boulder. It is an outdoor space perfect for large and small groups.

Rachel and Jay met in high school – and they have been inseparable ever since! These two are truly high school sweet hearts. Their proposal story is even better!

“Actually kind of funny. We had just moved to Seattle, and our 10th anniversary was coming up. I was READY for him to ask the dang question. One day while Jay was at work, a package came that I had to sign for. I thought that was weird so I texted Jay asking what he bought that needed signing. He texted back saying, “I don’t know.” I thought that was REALLY weird, so I did some snooping and looked up the return address…it was a jeweler. I felt so bad that I ruined it for myself, so I didn’t say anything. Well, same day I had lunch plan with a friend. Side note, Jay really didn’t know what the package was because the jeweler never sent the shipping confirmation. After a while Jay figured out what the box was and panicked. He came home while I was out at lunch and took the ring out of the box, put a computer part in the box, and taped the box back up. When he got home from work that day he opened the box like nothing was weird and pulled out the computer part. I WAS SO CONFUSED. I thought I was wrong about the ring! Anyway, he proposed at a beautiful marina that night. So in the end, it was still a surprise.”

With covid, the pair had to completely re plan their entire day. They opted to keep their ceremony and only have their closest family with them, and do a larger event next year.

Rachel got ready for her big day at an Airbnb in Downtown Boulder. Her and Jay shared their first look right outside. We then walked downtown for their portraits.
